The Rangoli competition using millets attracted a large number of participants during the Millets Festival organised jointly by the University of Agriculture Sciences, the Department of Agriculture and the Prantiya Sahakara Savayava Krishikar Sanghagala Okkoota Raichur, Ballari and Koppal at UAS in Raichur on Sunday.
The competitors drew various designs of Rangoli by using millets. Students and farmer women also participated in the competition.
They drew agriculture equipment that farmers use for agriculture activities.
They also drew pictures highlighting the importance of growing millets and protecting environment.
A picture of a proud farmer drawn by Vijayalakshmi, a competitor, was the cynosure of all eyes. “I am quite excited to draw the picture, that too using millets,” she said.
