Pedestrian dies in Mountain crash

A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle on Hamilton Mountain Friday afternoon.

She was one of two pedestrians hit on Upper Paradise Road just south of Stone Church Road West shortly before noon.

Both were taken to hospital where the woman was pronounced dead. It is the third pedestrian fatality in 2017 and the 15th death on Hamilton roads this year.


The other pedestrian is a man who has serious injuries but is in stable condition. Both are described by police as in their mid 70s.

They were hit by a vehicle travelling south on Upper Paradise driven by a 42-year-old Hamilton woman.

The investigation is on going, however, impairment has been ruled out.
